Robert Ragozine, president of Donnelly Sustainable Energy Services (SES), was recently interviewed for an article in the New York Post about the water usage and energy efficiency benchmarking that will become mandatory for all privately owned properties 50,000 sf and larger by May 1, 2011. In it, he explains the value of performing an energy audit to identify and proactively make improvements before benchmarking is done so as to avoid low scores--information that becomes publicly available once benchmarking is completed.
